$61 VE2% table

I read a couple of threads that talked about actually zeroing this table out in the $61 code. I was wondering if I could simply add these values to the VE%1 table in my BIN and then zero out the VE%2 table. That way, I could tune using only the VE%1 table.
Is this a good idea or will it end up breaking something?
TIA!

Don't do it. If you do there will be no way of reducing the VE as the RPM increases past the peak torque.

'Nuff said. Thanx, Rbob. It stays as it is.
Can I change the values in the VE2% table? I mean, is it okay to change them? I have just about done enough to the VE1 in the lower RPM/MAP ranges. I think that if I take much more out of it, I may end up with an overlean condition. My lower end VEs are already in the mid teens.

I keep the 400 to 3200 rpm constant at 30 so when I look at my VE1 it looks normal. By keeping 30 in those area's of the VE2 you can then take out some fuel after peak torque by as much as 30, I've found this to be easiest so again, don't zero out the VE2 .

So basicall, I can put something that works (like 30) in that table from 400 to 3200 and use the VE1 to control it? My engine sees peak TQ at about 4000 rpm. I can start pulling fuel there?

Yeah. So anything past 4000rpm should be less than 30 in the VE2 table. That's how you get it to "curve over" with these compound tables. I personally hate it but I've learned how to deal with it. I understand why GM did it too but it really is hard to visualize when just looking at one table or the other.

You can make 20-30 passes to figure it out, or 5 mins on an ecm bench.

Say your table looked like this

45
45
45
45
45
45
45
45
35
30
20
15

You could subtract 15 from, all the values in the VE2 table, and then add 15 to all the VE 1 table entries.

Rough in you VE around the peak torque area, and then just spin up the bin on an ecm bench to see where EXACTLY you are. Then you can in 1-2, maybe 3 passes see where you are, fuel wise.

Gotcha! Thanks gents! Beers to all!
Too bad I don't have and can't afford an ECM bench right now.
