what do you guys think of this??

This is a programmer I found on e-bay. I like it because it has a usb connection and the seller states that chips 2732, 27c128 and 27c256. Please let me know what you think. Here is the link {link removed}
what else would I need?
{edit: as ebay links a expressly forbidden and are worthless a few days after the sale, here is a description of the programmer (misspellings included):
This new dual powered (USB/AC) Willem multi-function programmer is a cost-for-value universal programmer and has
Features:
Dual power supply, convinence for portable usage.
Program a wide range of chip type ( detailed IC list click here ):
EPROM, EEPROM,Flash Memory, Serial (I2C) EEPROM, Microwire EEPROM, Microchip PIC, Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Micro controllers MCS-51, MCS-48 and Test nonvolatile SRAM, static RAM, ATMELand etc.
Connects PC via parellel port
Dual Power Supply Capability- Make use either USB power or AC/DC adaptor power
Vcc can be adjusted among: 5V,5.6V,6.2V when using AC
No jumper setting needed when switching between USB power and AC/DC adaptor power
While using USB power. No AC/DC adaptor is required for most of device's programming
Meanwhile, it also provides a standard AC/DC jack
Supports Win9X, Me, XP, NT and 2000 operating systems

I think if you look here:
Parts needed
and here:
Burning
You should have a great idea of what to do and what you need.
Just an FYI, If you will look up at the top of the DIY PROM page, there are things labeled Important/Useful . Try looking in those places for information first........ People on this board really want you to do your research first. Then they are more than happy to help you. Just a word of helpful advice.

Thanks for the advice, but I am new at this. I don’t understand all of the things needed and what the differences are between the different coding and different hardware and software. I have worked with programming robots both DOS and Windows and I have written programs in C++. It appears to be similar. If I want to get started then who do I turn to for advice if the people on this board are only willing to help each other with technical problems and not help me get started?????? Just tell me will this hardware do what I will want it to do and do you think it is junk or not. That is all I was asking before and no one wants to help me out. What gives here???? My other question was what should I do when I run a TBI on Vortec motor and someone linked me to the DIY programming page and locked the thread. So know I will have to re-post it so maybe someone can tell me were to start modifying the prom. I am not trying to bitch here but just someone tell me where to start. Thanks.

i've got a TBI vortec too and saw that burner but went with the pocket programer instead since this site really doesn't give direct info.

There's too much to it to explain in one post, which is why there are a good dozen threads stickied at the top of this forum. Read them first, then read them again, and that should give you a very basic knowledge of what is going on. Get a tuning program (I like TunerPro) and play with it. Then, when you have more specific questions, use the search button extensively. Then, if you STILL have specific questions, post away and you'll get the help you need. If it's obvious that you haven't read up on something, then noone is going to spend their time explaining what's already been explained dozens of times.
No offense, but there's a VERY steep learning curve here, and noone is going to drag you up it.
And FWIW, that programmer will probably work fine, but you'll still need a UV eraser and a fair stock of spare chips. I'd change over to EEPROMs (which don't require the eraser and are generally better anyway) and get a Flash 'N Burn from www.moates.net if all you want is to burn chips.
Oh and if you re-post that TBI question it'll likely get locked again. Do some research and then come back with a more specific question. The info is out there.

Thank you for the information. I still don't understand why some one could have answered that before.

I guess you do not understand the question asked. I wanted to know what you thought of the machine in question, not what I know or dont know about prom burning. I guess I dont understand why you can't tell me what you think of the machine!!!!! Thanks.

The information you received in the previous post is the same as you would find in the PROM Intro article: that it would work or not work for the EPROMs you need for your particular ECM.
You also inquired about what else you may need, that too is answered in the linked article.
