'165 MAF to MAP questions using TunerPro

I've read what I can find in the stickies about converting MAF to MAP, and I would like to make the switch by going about it the least intrusive way possible (read that as least wiring changes possible). From what I've been reading, the 165 ECU can be made to control a MAP set up with a few pin changes and a software change (plus the obvious MAF to MAP underhood changes). The problem is that all I have seen were Tunercat def files and I've only ever used TunerPro (GMECMEdit). Has anyone made the '165 MAP change using TunerPro bins/mask files? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Sorry, you still have to swap to a '730 ECU for it to work.

165 MAP running some code from down under . I haven't tried it yet personally but it seems worth a try if you're having trouble with MAF.

Yup, I read that one while researching the MAP ideas. So nobody has done the '165 MAP with 808 code using TunerPro yet? Otherwise it's buy a new ECU, hack some wires... or buy Tunercat and the DEF files and relearn how to tune everything.

I have no problems with my current MAF setup, but I've been considering an alternate form of port induction which won't lend itself to MAF systems very easily.

I have a $5d, $12 and a $5b ECU file for the 808 that work in TP. Unfortunately its been so long since i amassed the files i dont remember exactly where i got them. Check out moates file site and DIY-EFI.org . Try a google search for them, theyre out there somewhere.

I have what you are looking for...

Shoot me an email at quiktrp@cbcast*com and I'll send it your way. It's been a while since I've messed with th e808 code, but I have 5 edited ECU's and a complete one. I'll send them all and you can sort thru it

The completed one has all the values converted from metric to imperial so us Americans can understand it

Sounds interesting! What units did you convert the MAP values to??

As far as I know most of this code was written by American engineers and except for road speed, used metric units throughout.

Cheers,
Adrian

I'm stuck in the middle. Because of my engineering background I'm a metric man but having "mile" markers, mph, Deg.F, and flow benchs measured in inch's, oh yeah, and all my machine work has been in thousandths of an inch. Makes it hard to convert to metric so I've learned both.
I prefer metric for the MAP and MAF readings but everything else in "standard" . Having mph is easy for me since that seems to be on all of our speed limit signs. Injector flow rate is easier (for me) to visualize with lb/hr since we "weigh" things in lb it's just too easy.

MAP I left as KPA since all the tuning software is in KPA instead of in/hg.

EDIT: You've got mail JP

One binky, I sent you an email, but haven't gotten a response yet. The email was from my work at bnoon@avtex.com or you can also reach me at brad@bnmotorsports.com if you like.

Sorry about the delay, I just sent it out.

I started working a couple weeks ago, and things have been pretty busy lately. Get up at 6:00 am, go to work, go from work to school, get out of school at 8:15 pm, arrive home 9:15pm. Go to bed, and start all over again

Oh well, I graduate in a couple months so it wont be this bad for too much longer.

Welcome to the real world I guess, right?
