discrepancy-desired idle speed vs. setting in bin

Just wondering why I set the"idle vs. coolant" to 675 rpm and, when datalogging, the ALDL Values screen in TunerPro shows the "desired idle speed to be 725 and, yes, it idles at 725. (MAF 6E mask)

Any ideas?

Not positive on the $6E but on $8D the Idle Vs Coolant is only active "in gear".
there are adders to that value when NOT in gear that cause it to raise up.

I'll have to check that out. It could possibly be just a "park" thing. It was getting late...

"Idle speed adder park/neutral" that is 50rpm in the ARAP bin. 675+50 = 725
In TunerPro, use the Ctrl + F feature to find items with the word "idle", it helps!

Exactly.
As soon as I left the keyboard, my "mathematical" mind started working too!
Thanks.

On a related note, in an $8D that was originally an LB9 car but has an L98 bin with a manual tranny, does it think it's in park or in gear (being that there were no provisions for a switch)?

I would "guess" that there was a switch on the clutch pedal instead of the automatics Neutral safety switch.
The ECM input indicates NEUTRAL/PARK so anything else would be in gear.

In this case the prk/neut input is left open. The ECM sees the transmission as 'in gear' all of the time.

Okay, thanks. I was wondering because I can't get it to idle steady (as it did with the LB9 bin), but this doesn't really help me figure it out I guess.
