Been about 2 years...

Hi all. I have been away from this hobby for close to two years. I dont need some one to summarize things or spoon feed me, just give me some key words to search on. What is new within the last two years that would be of interest to someone running an 88' Vette with a 91 Speed density system from an F-Body.

Thanks!

And take a look at the tuning guide at the top of the DIY PROM board. lots of "summarized info" so searching is eliminated on alot of the major subjects.
Welcome back anyway

There's the ticket EVOs are the bomb in terms of hotrodding. MUCH better than Subarus in terms of getting power out of them. Very easy to get an EVO to have 350 at the wheels. You have to replace a lot on the Subaru to get to that.

On a tuning note, the Subaru ignition advance stuff is crazy. There are at LEAST 3 knock advance tables that can ADD spark on top of the main spark advance table. Extremely dynamic and active. Whenever I hear the word 'knock' I think of passive prevention ... i.e. the system pulls timing. Subarus use active prevention and will add timing on top of the base timing. The base timing isn't even close to optimal. It's horrible ... but the theory is that the knock tables will work together to produce the minimum best timing. I'm still a little baffled on tuning these but trying to figure them out. The import ... or should I say Subaru tuning community does not like to talk about the specifics of tuning. It's weird to have no real place to go to in order to ask questions ... and actually be able to get an answer. That's why this board will always kick butt.

Hmm, me thinks you should consider starting you're own WRX.org website. "If you build it, they will come....".
