My New Car

Hi all,

I hope I don't get beat up too badly for posting this the night before I go to pick up my new car( I know, I know, I should have pics), but I am so excited I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep!

With that being said... Tomorrow I am going to the local Chevy dealership to pick up my new 2012 2LT Camaro in Summit white, black stripes, RS package, dovetail spoiler, and black leather interior!

I know I'll probably take some heat for not getting the SS, but this is going to be a daily driver and my current commute is about one hour each way to work. Besides that, the V6 in the RS will have about 60 more horses than my IROC's L98, get almost twice the amount of fuel mileage, and be under warranty for the next five years... I love technology!

I'm picking it up tomorrow afternoon, and there will be pics to follow.

Oh, and don't worry, I didn't sell the IROC to buy this car, but I am starting to think I have a thing about white w/black Camaro's .

Re: My New Car

That's cool and congrats, but this isn't thirdgen related.

Re: My New Car

Thanks Puma,

I know it's not directly third gen related, but I had to post anyway!

This has got me thinking though... how many 3rd gen owners are also 5th gen owners but go to other sites to post their info and create new memberships.

It almost seems like a separate forum for members who are both 3rd/5th gen owners would be beneficial for this website! I mean after all we are just Camaro fans no matter what generation right?

Re: My New Car

First off.. I think it's cool you're excited about getting you're new car. I think it's even cooler you're excited because it's a Camaro. Me personally, I can't get use to the new Camaro body style.. I feel like the motor companies all just ran out of "new" ideas".. Ford and Chrysler are equally as guilty with the Mustang and the Challenger (even though I think The Challenger is the baddest new car I've ever seen..) Yes, this forum was the wrong place to post about your car, BUT NOT THE WRONG PLACE TO POST ABOUT YOUR ENTHUSIASM.. I have 4 3rds I own and not a day goes by that I don't dream about the day when I can take the t-tops off ROCCO (my 87 IROC) and crank up some cool tunes and go for a nice 4 hr joy ride up in the mountains here in Virginia with my gal.

if this thread is still up, I'd like to see a pic or two of your new Camaro. Stone

Re: My New Car

Thank you Stonehenge,

You hit the nail on the head with identifying my Enthusiasm for Chevrolet/Camaro's...

I have to admit that in 2010/2011 I was not sold on the Camaro, but there are several factors that have brought me full circle.

I am going to buy American!

The 2012 seems to be a more refined configuration than the previous two years.

A V6 with 323 hp and 30mpg!

The RS package!

If the thread is still active I will definitely have pictures up tomorrow night!

Not here. While some may appreciate other gens, we are the only thirdgen-only website. Since thirdgens haven't gone down in history as the most liked, the thirdgen section would get overrun/overshadowed by sections for other generations and the people who couldn't care less about thirdgens. It's particularly inevitable anytime you have a generation that is in production, that section of course would get the most traffic as people post about purchasing, etc.

Enjoy the new ride though.

Re: My New Car

Well, as promised here are the pics of the new ride... I am beyond happy right now and cannot say enough good things about the dealership I bought from.

I bought the dovetail spoiler at the dealership, and will be installing it myself by the end of the weekend.

The first pic is of the wife after she discovered the HUD feature, needless to say she was thoroughly impressed and really cute as she exclaimed, "Holy cow, it's projecting information on the windshield".

The other two pics are kind of poor quality but you get the idea!

Re: My New Car

Looks awesome.

I am also having a hard time getting accustomed to the look of the 5th gens but everytime i see one i like em even more.

I think i want one now lol. But then i look at a 3rd gen and im like nevermind lol.

If you are interested in 5th gen forums go check out camaro 5 or modern camaro, i have been on there a couple times and i always see signatures with a 3rd gen and a 5th gen in it.
