Make sure all pins in ecm/adapter/chip are clean, straight and connect properly.

Triple check your offsets. Any one on this board has had that bite them in the butt :-)

Also, every now and than, you do nuke a chip or its otherwise bad or sometimes the bin file even gets corrupeted so u burn a garbage bin. Might want to try with a knonw pure one just to turn the key on and see if it checks out.

File Size Chip Buffer Start -> End Chip Start -> End
4k (4096) AT29C256 000000 -> 000FFF 007000 -> 007FF

im useing the pocket programmer 1, and pocket programmer 2 software,
on the lower right side theres 6 boxs that say this, in order

buffer start=
device start=
device end=
hex file start=
hex file end=
hex offset=

i get confused as to what gos where,
Buffer Start -> End Chip Start -> End
000000 -> 000FFF 007000 -> 007FF,

i have AT29C256 proms

i get a fast flashing SES, i heard you can disable the checksum but i have no idea how,

im using C.A.Ts that's what im must familiar with, i tryed tunner pro and tryed switching the ID mask to "$AA" and "AA" saved it then burned on PP2 comes out as a 32k file, put it in the G2 shocket turn the key, same thing just flashes non stop, im getting really frustrated....

check your soldering on the board and make sure that solder isnt joining 2 of the joints on your adapter install

Ok, first you should do what formula90 said. Check the solder joints close to make sure you didnt get any from one solder pad to the next.

After this is good and when you open your programer software, make sure you have BIN file selected at bottom left . Not hex or any of the other stuff.

Insert your chip and make sure the chip is inserted correctly and you have it selected (AT29C256) in the program, Now do a complete erase of chip, enter this in bottom right of program.

buffer start=0000
device start=0000
device end=0FFF
hex file start=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data
hex file end=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data
hex offset=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data

Click "erase"

Once it says device is erased then do a "Blank Check" -top left of program button...next it should tell you device is blank and if not repeat the previous steps or make sure chip is in programer socket all the way.

Next, on bottom left of program select the "load Buffer" button and go to the file where your bin is located and double click it. It should say at bottom of program in black hi-light that this is your file that is in buffer

Now look to the right bottom side of programer software and you should see the following

buffer start=0000
device start=07000-change this from 0000
device end=0FFF
hex file start=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data
hex file end=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data
hex offset=this should be grayed out / so you cant enter data

Now hit "program device"......this should only take a second and programer top box should say " device verified" .

Go install in ecm and all should be good with the world.

But just to let you know "murphy's law" has been at my house for a few months now so you should be safe but he did tell me to tell everyone HEY!, LOL

Hope this helps

Ive noticed lately that there have been SEVERAL "new burn wont work" questions and everyone comes out saying "Offsets?" What is offsets?

I think a simple sticky should be make for offsets alone or just a link in the DIY PROM to craigs page delaing with offsets.
