ok here where I'm at.. I have a stock 88 2.8.. I like to do some basic e-prom mods.. I been reading on how to do it.. but im comfused.. So can someone break it down for me.. as to Software, hardware.. And can I just pull a e-prom for a S-yard and reprogram it and save my stock one?

As for just finding a memcal at the wrecking yard and installing it on your own car - you MIGHT get lucky and get one that works (or that can be reprogrammed) to work on your car - but don't count on it.

Generally V8 SD memcals can be used only on V8 SD cars and V6 SD memcals can be used on other V6 SD cars. BUT, almost always, you will need to reprogram them. You cannot use V8 memcals on V6 cars as they have different circuitry (unless someone has come up with a work-around).

I cannot comment on MAF cars as I have only tried experimenting with "junk yard" memcals on SD cars (V8s & V6s).
