After changing to a 3“ exhaust system and also switching from an auto to a 6 sp manual trani, my engine seems to bog. It’s as if it were running lean. It’s basically from about 1300 to 2500 in gears 1 to 4. I richened the mixture 5% twice, as it seemed to be running lean; didn’t help any. LTC about 145 –150 and STC about 128.
I used Vemaster exe but all it did was lean out the mixture.
Anyone know what else this might be. I still think I’m running lean!! But Vemaster doesn’t.

That's the area where the converter would still will allow for some slippage.Originally Posted by vettef6

Thou without seeing you .bin, you might have to do the opposite... Judging by what you said the VE learn said.
Grumpy, I was also thinking the converter was covering up the bog. I had a 2400 TC and so it really fits in the range I'm having trouble with.
I was just thinking; if I'm having trouble with this cam, not really a big cam, what do other people do when using a 242/248 or bigger cam????
Since I already richened up the VE table about 10%, I can't think richening up the mixture a little more isn't going to help. I'm going to reduce the timing about 3° and see what happens.
Which one of the AE tables do you mean??
Thanks
Arnold

No the converter wasn't covering the bog, it a matter of you changed the load/ conditions that the ecm has to cope with.Originally Posted by vettef6

Just more tuning.
Don't think too much, experiment, and take notes, then look for trends.
There are probably 2, one MAP based, and one TPS based. Going from an auto to man means you'll probably want to use less MAP based AE, and more TPS based. Again, experiment....
Grumpy, there are 7 AE tables I see:
Accel. Enrich. Vs. Differential TPS (Mult)
Accel. Enrich. Vs. Coolant Temp. (Multi)
Accel. Enrich. Delta TPS PW Factor vs. Asyncr Pulse
Accel. Enrich. Delta MAP PW Multiplier vs. Delta MAP
Accel. Enrich. Delta MAP PW Multiplier vs. Coolant Temp.
Accel. Enrich. Delta MAP PW Decay Factor vs.- Coolant Temp
Accel. Enrich. Delta MAP Enable Threshold vs. TPS
Which one should I change??
One thing to consider is, that just touching the gas pedal (accelarating) a little, and the engine runs okay.

This is the one that you change to add fuel for a given change in throttle position
Accel. Enrich. Delta MAP PW Multiplier vs. Delta MAPThis should be the one for changes in MAP. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I usually use the TPS table.

You got it.
The coolant temp correction is for making huge changes.....
Here are the two tables. Can you tell me how much you would change if you were me??
