O2 location

I have my speed pro finally. The shop I got it from is pretty much a ford based operation, and I was asking him about where I should put the O2. He said I should not put it after the y pipe. He said find out which bank on chevies run leaner and put it on that side as close to the collector as possible. Im hoping the drivers side is the leanest(the factory location of the slp bung). Anyone have any ideas? Or is he totally wrong?

Is this a WB O2 Speedpro?.
If so then anywhere post exhuast tip of 12"s is fine.
If heated, about anywhere within 6' of the exhuast valve.

The O2 is for emissions and is an average, it just cycles rich and lean to an average of 14.7, which is plenty rich. As a matter of fact for idle and cruise richer then needed

He's talking about the SpeedPro ecm with a WB option. that WB O2 not GM user friendly. Yes, a WB O2 sensor will let you see WOT AFRs. There is a DIY in developement

Way too much!!!!!!!!! And it took over a month for Texas Jam to get it. With tax it was 1938.00. Ive started putting in the harness. Unfortunatly I have have to lengthen almost all the sensor leads. Its going to be bad *** though. Ill email you when I go to the track with it.
