Changing from 32 to 6E

Should you use an 89 memcal or can you use an 87 memcal with no problems when switching from 32 to 6E code?

Either Or.

As long as the MemCal was designed for the 165 and a TPI vehicle with similar options (tranny, eng size, etc).

Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

Uh oh... What about using an AXXD (92 305 5-speed) memcal with a 350 5-speed?

So is the gear ratio stored on the memcal or is it in the bin you use?

Also, I guess everyone with a 730ecm has had good luck using the flash proms 29C256. Any suggestions on a flash prom to use on the 165ecm? Im ordering all my stuff now and if I can find a flash prom that will work for my 165ecm I won't need the UV eraser!!!

Thanks

87IROC350, the gear ratio is stored in neither the memcal or in the bin, at least for the '165 MAF cars. The TCC lock-up speeds are probably different between cars with different axle ratios, and maybe a few other minor things, but nothing else to signify different axle ratios. When you change gears to a different ratio, just change the speedo gears to the correct ones, and everything will be hunky-dory.
