tunerpro rt VE tables issue

using TP-RT for first time.

registered a year ago under version 4.0.

used XDF provided by another member as 1227747-jb.xdf using the .bin from my existing 7747. i load the .xdf. OK. then i load the .bin. OK. the constants look good. i look at tables. all OK(like AE). i look at VE as % FL1. issue is the top horizontal row is all 4's where it should be 20-30-40 etc as MAP left to right should be there. 8 columns for MAP 20-90(no 100?) but again not labled correctly. not speaking of values here. the verticle axis is all 2's and should read 400 at bottom to 2000 rpms at top as i believe(9 rows). now the values in my bin(per tunercat) at 400 rpms/20 map show correctly in TP(bottom-left corner). my value at 400 rpms /100 map show in TP at top left corner. which is 2000/20 map area in TP. not right. my value farright lower corner in TP should reflect 400 rpms/90 map. it holds my value which is located 3200/20 in TC. so the VE tables are scrambled so to speak.

what did i do wrong?

ps. this was discovered trying to modify the .bin(stock) that was enclosed with my EBL. using that XDF and .bin brought to my attention so i tried the other XDF and original .bin i had for 7747.

The stock '747 & '8746 VE 1 table is pivoted. The columns are RPM with the rows by MAP. Here is an example:

Code:
[kPa] 400 800 1.2 1.6 2.0 2.4 2.8 3.2 [RPM]
  100 47 47 48 50 50 51 51 52
   90 43 45 48 49 50 52 53 53
   80 40 41 44 48 49 52 52 53
   70 38 39 42 46 49 52 52 52
   60 31 36 39 43 48 50 50 51
   50 21 29 36 41 45 45 46 46
   40 15 22 30 39 42 42 43 43
   30 7 16 23 31 35 37 38 39
   20 2 6 10 14 18 25 29 31
I set it up with decreasing MAP values, such as TP does. Not sure why you are getting all 4's across the top. It may be that the XDF file isn't set up correctly.

i just sent you a shot of what i am seeing.

i can deal with the lack if row's being labled. my concern is that the final .bin will be a valid one. again TPRT version 4.00 . i will load the updated 4.13 and see how that looks.

is there any other "setup" in TP-RT that i am failing to do? it seems the my original .bin is not populating the correct areas in tables. that is no big deal as i will modify your stock bin for my known VE table and no longer need my old bins..

Typically when I see one row is messed up in TP, the table start address is wrong.
But all 4's has me wondering.

Looking at the picture you sent I see the issue. For others following: the X & Y axis row/column identifiers are incorrect. All RPM values are 4, all MAP values are 20. The actual BIN values are correct.

Here is a snap shot with the proper values. I also included the help screen which shows the version & build ID. This is with the XDF version: EBL_V16.XDF, which should be the same one you have.

It may be worthwhile to down load either this TP build, if available, or the latest that Mark has on his site.

Maybe the planets were aligned right or something but my EBL was delivered around 1pm and I had it in and running the car by 5ish taking my time.

Very user friendly hardware and software.

Kudos to Rbob

Just so I'm clear - is this a TunerPro issue or an XDF issue? Let me know if it's the former and I'll get it fixed right away.

I remember staying with Tunercat longer than I should because the XDF's that I had did the same thing with the fuel tables and I did not trust using it even though I really wanted to. Seems like someone finally sent me a copy of one that worked and then I started using it and never looked back. With Craig's Ostrich and Rbob's EBL it is all I have ever used.

The XDF "makes or breaks" how useful TP is to the "data challenged" as myself.

Allot of other items in life needs the support that you guys give for your products.

Great Job once again goes out to Mangus, Moates and Rbob.

You guys have made tuning fun.

I believe it is an issue with TunerPro. I haven't had any issues of the nature Ronny has run into with the version/build that I am using (see my above post).

Ronny, can you check the help screen on TP and let Mark know the build number, thanks.

The XDF file was created from the ECU file via the TP convert. As a double check here is the XDF entry for the table in question:
Code:

Ron,

Are you saying you tried opening a stock 7747 bin using the EBL .xdf? Is that the result we are seeing here because if it is, it won't work. You need to migrate your 7747 settings over to the EBL code.
Sorry if I am jumping into this a bit late.

Where can I get a bin and XDF that shows the issue?

Is this a populate-by-column table? It appears that it's disabled, but you mention the pivot. There is an option in TunerPro to populate by column instead of row:

change

040310 PopByCol =0x0

to

040310 PopByCol =0x1

(or, better, do it in the editor). Also, try using the latest build here:
http://www.tunerpro.net/builds/Beta/

I'll investigate further.

Mark, no pivot for this table. Please see my post with the picture (#6) in this thread. In that picture (screen shot) there is no issue. It works as planned. The version of TP-RT that Ronny is using has the issue. It is that same table that I show in the screen shot. However, the MAP identifiers across the top are all 20. Where they should be 20, 25, 30, 35, . . . Then the RPM down the left side are all 4, where they should be 2000, 1900, 1800, . . . 400.

Note the screen shot in post #6, that is how it is supposed to be.

The XDF entry for that same table is what I posted. I also recommended to Ronny that he either download the same version I am using (show in in the screen shot), or the latest.

One item is that I am using the straight TunerPro, he claims he is using "TP-RT, registered a year ago under version 4.0."

Hopefully soon Ronny will post the Version & build number. This may be something that has already been fixed.

RBob.

Thanks Bob, got all that. Problem is, there is no direct download for that old version.

What I need to know at this point is whether or not the problem exists in the version linked to above. Can either of you try this and let me know?

If the problem does exist on that latest version, Ronny, please email me the files to reproduce (mark at tunerpro net). I know its more work on your part to do that, but it greatly simplifies the search for me.

Free and RT use the same code base, so they should behave identically there.

Thanks for your help and patience, gentlemen.

will attempt to get you the info tomorrow.

Dom: i used the 7747 XDF that was provided by elkabong for looking at my current 7747.bin. the stock EBL .bin provided by RRob was opened and modified by the XDF he provided, i attempted to datalog a year ago with TP-RT but was unsucessfull. that was my only experiment with it until i rec'd the EBL. honestly i never took the time to learn how to do so. my TEAM WB02/winALDL was working well.

Q: will see if the new version is same.. wont use old bins anyway. start fresh with EBL bin. and reconfiguer to my values in my current 7747 .bin.

i downloaded 4.13. same issue. using XDF file: EBL_v16.xdf also using EBL.bin

Mangus: i was gojng to send you my .bin but dont see how that would help? are you suggesting i send you my 4.13 ? possibly it is corrupt somehow?

i assume it will still provide accurate data. just the label(s) are compromised?

I just need the XDF and BIN that repro the issue. I looked on the Dynamic EFI site for said XDF but couldn't find it (I assume it is only distributed with the EBL). If you could email me the bin and XDF I'll take a look.

clear. i was thinking the program was the issue. i will email you both this evening unless RBob does this afternoon?

BUT i still have tunerpro v4.00 (not rt) on my laptop. whne i use an xdf(1227747-jb.xdf) provided to me by another forum member and open one of my old bins(07192006vetps.bin) for 7747 i have same problem? how can this be xdf or .bin related? seems both TP programs had this issue from day one. TPRT4.0 was registered 06/2005 but never used to modify .bin files.

The program IS the issue. I need the files to reproduce it so I can fix it. =)

Mark, I'll send you some files shortly.

Some additional information. My above screen shot of TP 4.0 (build 4.00.3554.0) is running on an NT 4.0 SP 6 box. No issues.

I just recalled that I have a newer version running on another box, so tried it. No issues at all. This is build 4.13.0183.00 of TP running on an XP SP 2 box.

Excellent, thanks. Can you zip up and send me the TunerPro.exe (and supporting DLLs) for build 0183 that you mention above, too? This will allow me to compare good behavior to bad behavior using the XDF and BIN that you send along.

Thanks for your patience and help, gentlemen.
