BIN for 327, start w/ 5.0 or 5.7 bin?

I am going to make a custom BIN for my 327. This will be an 89 ecm/harness (no cold start inj.). I have to have a starting point, so which bin should I start with, 5.0L or 5.7L?

------------------
82' Z-28. 327" w/ flat tops. 216/228/112LS. Pocket ported 041 heads 1.94/1.50 SS valves. World Class T-5 from a 91'. Best run? Runs with 2001 vette to 150mph! Soon to be converted over to TPI w/ supercharger.

Since you've got a 5-speed, I'd start with the 305 5-speed bin, and modify the cylinder constant.

Just a thought but the 305 has a different stroke and bore than the 327. At least the 350 has the same bore. Wouldn't it probably be best to start with a 5.7 eprom? This is just a thought. About the 5 speed, I guess a 5.0L is the only way to do it.

I would probly get the APYP(89vette 6speed chip).
Then compare that to an 89 305 5speed chip.

From there you should be able to get a pretty decent chip to start out with.

Oh and the MAF does not have a Cylinder volume option(its not needed).

I'd start with a 730.
The MAP system is not displacement sensitive. 327 has about nothing in common with either the 5 or 5.7L engines as far as design principals. 327 is kinda a high rpm engine and that's where MAFs run out of resolution, being a small displacement engine that would work for you with the MAF, but I don't see where going thru all the MAF scalers and stuff is going to be any fun.

My mistake, I'm used to MAP stuff.

I'd still use the 305 5-speed chip then, or just use the 350 chip and modify the trans option for a 5-speed. Its your choice. Almost everyone uses the ARAP chip for MAF cars.

I just said that a 5.7 would make more sence because of the actual design. Same block as a 327 and uses the same heads (spark advance detonation etc.). What are the differences between the auto vs. standard eproms? Is there a difference in the ecm or just the eprom?

Their is no difference in the ECM, an ecm is an ecm, thats where GM saved their money.
The eprom is where the brains are stored in a sense...

I've noticed quite a few differences between the 305 5-speed PROM and the 350 automatic PROM, at least in speed density cars. Usually its just minor fuel and spark changes. I dont know the reason, but I would imagine its because of the different heads, and engine size, they have different fuel/spark needs.
