more eraser problems....

This is in regards to the earlier post by me. Thanks for everyones help so far. I bought a new GM memcal to erase, science mine would not. Now the new one won't either. I am not looking for some one to burn a chip for me, but if someone is within a hour of Louisville, KY, and willing to help, I would very much like to talk to you in real time.

Thanks
Jeremy

have you gotten any to erase read write?.
Do you have any loose eproms?.

If you haven't gotten anything to work and want to just try a couple epeoms to see if you got things down right email off list, and I'll send you a couple (need to know what size your working on)

All i have is 2 stock eproms on memcals. I can read them fine, I just can't get them to erase to fix the VATS. I have a stock 92 TPI car.

Just a question, but are you sure they are reading ok? I mean, if you have a pin off from the memcal to pocket programmer(ie, the adapter that Tim came up with), then it would read what it could from the pins that are touching... if one pin is off it won't read that its erased.
Have you tried viewing the bin that you downloaded? If it works fine then I'd definatly try some other eproms to see if you can erase some of them, if you cannot then I would look towards your eraser as being the problem.

I have viewed the file from the prom, so it is reading. I have tried to erase both proms with no luck. The eraser might be messed up, but it lights up, and I have no other way to check it. This is getting frustrating, my car has been down for 3 weeks.

OK, with the addition of a new GM key it will start. But the problem is, it is in limp home mode. Any ideas?

If its starting in limp home mode, more than likely the chip did get erased. Have you tried programming the chip with different voltages?
