You need a "burner" like Intronics Pocket Programmer to read the bin itself from the eprom. TunerPro allows you to modify the bin after you have read it off the eprom.

You said that you have a burn1 from Craig? If so and you are using TP plug in the burn1 unit and click the icon at the top of TP that looks like a wire with a connector on it and it should say its searching for and then finding the unit.............or when using TP under tools go to preferences then ALDL/Emulation tab and check Detect hardware at startup.

See if that gets you anywhere..............

PS.... Craig also has software that comes with the burn1 that you can read and burn bins with.

Oops, I didn't notice the "burn 1". I can't comment on the differences. I think the Pocket Programmer can handle a greater variety of eproms. But if you are only interested in your own car, then it doesn't matter.

Also, if you want to "read" an AT29C256 Flash Prom, you really should read it as a 27C256 (which is what the ECM thinks it is).

You've got everything you need, and it should all turn out just fine once you figure it out. There aren't any easier methods I don't think, what you have on your hands is about the easiest.

TunerPro Free does not interface with the BURN1. You need TunerPro RT or the BURN1 standalone software.
