I tried burning my own chip for the first time last night and didnt like the out come of the chip so I took it out and put the one back in that fast chips burned for me. Now the one fast chips burned was running smooth at idle and the chip I burned my self ended up barely able to run at all during idle, well actually idle was to high and then I would put it into drive and the rpms would drop and the car would barely run. So I put the the other chip back in that fast chips made and I am still getting the same problem, it will barley run at all now. I dont understand what is happing, I was going to use the chip that fast chip gave me as a back up just in case the chip that I burned myself didnt work out. Why is my orginal chip not working now?

 

What mods have you done? The first thing to check is are you installing the notch in the chip towards the outer edge of the memcal,not towards the middle.

 

My guess would be that the "learned" fueling was not cleared by removing power from the ECM after each file change was done.
Until you clear it out and then do a bit of relearning, it will be rough.
Unless of course the tune is really good.
Pull the battery cable or ECM power fuses and try again.
Might have to cruise it around a bit before it come back to normal.
Hopefully you haven't fouled plugs or something to make it that much worse at idle.

 

Will I removed the battery cables for 30mins and tried it but it was still the same. I will try again and this time remove the ECM power fuses and see what happens.
My mods are ported heads, zz9 cam, headers, mini ram manifold, block bored .30 over with a compression of 9.5:1.

 

I just check my timing and some how it moved to 8*. It was originally around 22* so I am thinking that if I advance the timing it should run fine.

 

Your timing should match your chip setting. Look at your fast chip in tuner pro and set your timing to match. Any timing adjustment should be done in the bin file using tunerpro (or what ever program you use). Most stock chips are set at 6* timing.

 

Sounds like it's running on just the module (i.e. base timing only), and not the chip.

 

That is a good possibility. JCL91, check for the SES blink at key-on, engine-off. It has to blink for it to be running from the PROM. This is a check that should be done each time the PROM is changed.
