Re: NOOB needs opinions

you've come to the right place.

as you need everything, my vote is for the AutoProm.
the AutoProm does pretty much everything as far as chip tuning goes, it data logs, it burns, it emulates in real time, it slice & dices,... oops, wrong product.
the AutoProm comes with a license for TunerPro which you can download for free.
you'll also need some chips & adapters for your applications.

the AutoProm, chips & adapters, http://www.moates.net/

TunerPro, http://www.tunerpro.net/

also, a wideband O2 sensor isn't mandatory, but it can really help make tuning much easier.

good luck

Re: NOOB needs opinions

i can't help you on the 165. but for the 730, the G1 is what you need.
or you can get the G3 or the GP3 & a couple of extra 29F040 chips. like this you can burn up to 16 bins to the chip using the bin stacker in TunerPro. then using the G3 or the GP3, you can switch between the bins.
if the adapter you get doesn't come with one, a ZIF is well worth the price.

i may have not worded it right on the wideband O2 sensor, you'll need the controller too. the wideband O2 sensor alone won't work.
there are a number of wideband O2 sensor kits available. Craig Moates sells the Innovate which a lot of people here have.
http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=88

i have the Zeitronix ZT2,
http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

on the 7730 ECM, using either the Innovate or the Zeitronix, you can modify the ECM and then input the wideband output into the ECM & log it in TunerPro. you'll need use S_AUJP_V4.
there is also a patch to data log the wideband in TunerPro if you want to use your stock bin. but with the better resolution that V4 has, i feel its the bin to use for the 90~92 TPI SD systems.

i should mention, S_AUJP_V4 may be a bit much for you just starting out, but it is definitely worth looking into.

Re: NOOB needs opinions

Will need 27C256's for the '7730 ECM. The '128s will work with the '7165 ECM.

RBob.
