need some help with TunerPro v5

First, here's the info on the car. 1991 Camaro v6 730 ecm with $88 code mask and an Ostrich. I have done tuning with v4.
Problem...I'm having some issues with connectivity. Originally, the Ostrich wouldn't connect with v5. I think that's fine, now. It seems to work every time. Sometimes the aldl will connect and work fine. Sometimes it won't connect at all. It seems like I've had better luck if the usb for the ostrich is not plugged in when I start TP. Then, I'll connect with the aldl then plug in the usb and start emulation. However, this doesn't always work, either. When I was messing with it a little while ago, I had the key on, aldl connected (I would see TPS V change with pedal movement) and ostrich connected/emulation on; I then started the car, no problems. I shut the ignition off without disconnecting the aldl or anything then it didn't want to reconnect (once I turned the key back on). I messed with it for a little bit and got it to connect again. But, it isn't (and wasn't before this instance) connecting every time I tell it to. Any ideas what I should try? Its set for serial port and com1. I don't know what else to look at. It will also tell me aldl cable found and functioning but, then it won't connect.
Thanks for any help!

Re: need some help with TunerPro v5

Try reassigning the comm port you use to greater than comm 4.
Many thing can conflict with them.
Putting it at 5 or higher "could" resolve the problem.
Be sure to set it for the highest baud rate you can (that works) and change the latency setting to 1 on the port when you change it.

Its only giving me the option for com1. v4 gave me other options. baud is at 8192. I'll have to look at the latency setting...I hadn't done that. Thanks for the thoughts! you got any more ideas?

Having intermittent connection issues and the car wont accept autoprom mode. I can emulate and scan but not simultaneously. I must do both seperately.

Re: need some help with TunerPro v5

I've had the same issues but if I restart the computor it works? Usually have this problem after I have used a differant cable with WinALDL then use my AutoProm... It definatly has something to do with USB and COM port settings but even if I change mine they seem to change on their own when I restart the computor... but I can always get the AutoProm to work emulating and datalogging simotainously using TunerPro V5.

BTW there is an update to V5 out recently and I just updated yesterday. Build 5.00.7532.00
