EBL SA problems need help.

I have a 383 with AFR 195, hsr, 58mm tb, 30lb inj, 1-3/4" LT in my trans am 1990. I installed EBL and got a starter bin that worked out pretty good and I'v done a few learns and its getting better and better. But there are a few things I cant figure out.

1. My idle is good and is around 900rpm but when I stand still with gear in D and I push the gaspedal a little to get going it hestitates and sometimes stops, I have to pump a few times very quickly on the gas so it wont stop. I have tried to change VE (Only up) but it wont go away and I cant see anything strange from the WB. What whould you change?

2. I have my SA set to 34 from 3200 and all the way up to 6000rpm at 90 and 100 kpa but I hear some pinging and when I look in the logfile the SA is 37-38 degrees, how come? What other table is controlling SA and adding a couple of degrees?

3.
The tripmeter in the WUD how accurat is it? I Filled the tank so it was almost full and drove 9 european miles wich is around 56 us-miles and the tripmeter said that I'v consumed around 9 litres and average was 10.4km/litres when I came back my petrolmeter was only 1/2. I dont know how much litres the tank can hold, but doesnt the figures seems a little off?

4.
I'v reed that the iac steps should be 5-15 and some says 20 in idle, when I look in the "IAC-Minimum Idle Steps" table the values are:
Deg Steps
151 55
128 55
104 46
80 41
56 56
32 63
8 74

Am I looking at the wrong values here?

When doing a VE learn how will I set these tables? Any differences if I do BLM or WB learns?

BLM-RPM Learn Threshold
BLM-MAP Learn Threshold
BLM-Max/Min BLM
BLM - Max/Min BLM at Key-on (init)

And do I need to set more than these?

Re: EBL SA problems need help.

Some fueling values need to be changed wenn using higher flowing injectors and/or pressure.

SA, scroll down the bin. in tuner pro, you will find many other parameter with SA influence and read the calibration sheet included on the ebl cd, for description.
Can lower SA in the SA main table were knock occours.

Fuel tank is around 56L, to calculate mpg, fuel supply (injectors, fuel pressure) needs to match the actual fueling numbers in the bin.

Thats not it, the problem is that the logfile shows 37-38 degrees and the SA only has 33-34 where does the other 3-4 degrees come from.

I think it is, I'll fill her upp completly next time to be shure and then I fill up again when I come back and compare the figures.

It is as thomas posted. There are several SA parameters/tables that can add or subtract SA. There is also PE that adds SA. Read through the calibration document for an explanation of the spark control parameters.

For fuel consumption, be sure to set the MPG injector flow parameter in the calibration correctly. You can't go by the petrolmeter as they are woe-fully inaccurate. To check the WUD against actual, you need to keep track of liters into the tank (from petrol station), and kilometers traveled.

Re: EBL SA problems need help.

The car now runs pretty good I'v done 22 VELearns so it goes ok in low and middle and WOT is also ok now, I will run some more to get it perfect. Something really strange is that when I read about engines that have simular setup as I have, they can have their timing at 34-36 degrees but I cant. 33 is the maximum anything over that the valvetrain starts to make noise and I'm loosing power.
I have one problem I cant get rid of and it has been there from the beginning and it doesnt matter if I give it more or less fuel in VE. When I'm in drive and stands still in a crossing or redlight and then when I give gas to get going it hesitates and dies, if I dont trick it with some fast pumps on the pedal then its ok. What could that be? I tested the car with my Gtech RR once, (hard to find a straight road without people or cars) and I manage 12.5 with 117mph wheels were spinning, shifting was bad so theres lots of room to improve.

Re: EBL SA problems need help.

Try to add SA at idle to see if it helps.

Re: EBL SA problems need help.

HC raises if too much SA or lean, SA at idle can be higher depending on what cam. I would give it a try.

Re: EBL SA problems need help.

Is AE being invoked when she stumbles?
Too much could kill it.
With extra FP, injectors and healthy VE tables I don't need any down low.
AE-PW & RPM tables.
I recall notes on this for your setup in calibration info?
I hope that helps.
