aldl help
i am new to tuning and i just got my aldl cable and im trying to get a program to work so i can start data loging and tuning my car. right now i have tuner pro rt and im trying to get it to connect but i cant get it to connect to the usb cable. it just keeps saying hardware not found but i know the computer is seeing the cable because it shows up under hardware. anyone have any insight or something that i can try.

You set set the com port in the preferences tab, which is found under the tools menu.
You will also need to load the proper ADS or ADX for your application.

Guy I know had this problem with his 91... He plugged the laptop into my ALDL and it worked just fine. His, however, required a replacement ECM.
I'd try connecting with another car first just to make sure the cable and settings are okay and then work from there. Keep in mind that you need to change the configuration files and the baud rate if you try connecting with an ECM older than 90 (unless it's a different car with the 1227730 or the 1227727 ECMs).
