Tunerpro and wideband

Is there any way to interface tunerpro with a wideband input other than autoprom? I am currently using the ALDU1&cable and wonder if there is a way. Otherwise I guess I will just have to view the LC1 data separatly.

if your ECM has a spare A/D input, that's one easy way.

Yes if you adx has the options to do it. The F2 (a 0-5vt input) pin has been used on many cases to add the WB input off a controler. I use that personally to datalogg the AFR's. Its a $59 mask on a 7730 Ecm.

Thanks fasteddi, now we're getting somewhere. This is exactly what I am looking for. However, I am using 165/6E with my maf car. What is the "F2" pin you are referring? Is it in the ALDL or where are you accessing the data stream? It seems the adx I am using has some "other" input capability. Please elaborate. Also, are you using a LC-1 or other type WB and do you also run a gauge? I don't necessarly care about a gauge if it is in the data log stream.

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

Here's a link to an old thread addressing your question in 6e. It appears all you'd need is an APYPWB or an ARAPWB bin which I think are both available now. Good luck, and if you go on this please post your results!

Edit: It's pin D8 on a '165 ECM

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

I tried the APYP bin and ads/adx files in that link. I swappwd all the APYP settings with my ARAP constants/flags/tables. The eng fired up and ran OK but still no WB02 reading with the TunerproRT s/w. Just got 22.389 AFR and it didn't change when I removed the 2.5v I'm sending to ecm pin D8.

That link has another link for ARAP users, but it's a dead link. Tried Moates site but was unable to find any Custom Modified Binaries..

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

Try the zipped files in post 1 here:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...band-data.html

Moates has discontinued his downloads *temporarily* I hope, but EagleMark has some on his site I believe.

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

Thx for the link caboboy!
I unzipped and viewed the ads/adx file in tunerproRT. Under values/wide band, I viewed the general and conversion tabs and it's identical to the ads/adx file I downloaded earlier today for the APYP files. Maybe if I use the ARAP file you just linked to it will work. I'll give a try tomorrow. I won't transfer all my constants/flags/tables until I see it work this time. I can test it w/o starting the eng..

Thx again!!

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

Awsome keep us updated.

I am using a SLC-DIY2 Wideband kit. But had the same capibilities yours has. The F2 pin on my ecm is just a blank input. Mainly your looking for a 0-5vts input pin on the ecm. You can look through the ecm(165) pin diagram and look for a blank one that has that specific vts input.

Then the adx file must have the option in the flags area for the WB input and the voltage/afr tables. If I had more time I would just tell you how it came to be on my ADX but ATM I off to work and your 165 is a little different.

Yeah I noticed this on a lot of links previously available through the Moates site. Guess I can't blame them since they sell hardware specifically for it. But for those of us who don't want to dump any more $$ than necessary it is nice to have a way.

One question, if anyone will humor me. Does the APYPWB bin/adx in the zipped file require a converter such as the LC1 still or does it read directly from the WB. Again, here I am trying to save a $$ so if I don't have to purchase a complete system then thats just what I am gonna do. I don't want to install a A/F gauge in my car- just need the data. However, if I DO need a LC-1 type setup I have seen the LC-1 with O2 sensor/bung & gauge from a couple of suppliers online for ~$180 or so. Might as well get a gauge too when the basic LC-1 with O2 sensor/bung kit is ~$150.

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

A WB O2 sensor requires a controller. They are a complex little sensor.

Thanks RBob- got it.

BTW I notice the link in your sig~ you got anything to do with Dynamic EFI? Man, if I had seen the EBL before I got all my stuff (adaptors, chips, ALDLcable, ALDU, burner etc etc) I would have jumped on it. Never saw it before yesterday. Just got curious cause I kept seeing that thread "Tuning with EBL". Looks like it side steps a lot of the hassle and that dash looks sooooo sweet. From what I read it would be a natural on my 89'Roc with a couple of minor tweeks. Not to hi-jack my own thread!

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

It is an integrated package, and having the ECM back under the dash is the best part. A few seconds to flash in a new calibration and it's off to the races. Dynamic EFI is what I do full time now.

RBob.

Moates gave us the entire Moates FileMan folder when their website had issues. I don't know if they will be restoring it, but they did want it preserved and available. It has it's own folder called moates:

Re: Tunerpro and wideband

Well this post is old. Question about wideband signal to the ECM. Is it a positive or negative 0-5 volt signal? My wideband has 2 wires positive and negative. Glad I found this post. I just need to run my wire to the ecm and I’m hooked up.

Well, not so fast which is what RBob was eluding to. Every WB controller outputs a different voltage curve, even when linear 0-5v. For example, (2*V) +10, (2*V) + 9, etc. So must have the controller's Vout table/graph voltage to AFR or Lambda. Then need to either enter the appropriate conversion in TP (preferred), or create a lookup table (Vout to AFR).
