chip addressing vs. buffer addressing
would someone please explain chip addressing vs. buffer addressing when using Flash & Burn? and then how/why it's different for the different chips? I understand the chips are of different size, but don't they all start in the same place? (at the beginning?) and then what if you read the information off of a AT27C256, modify the bin and then want to burn it to a 27SF512 what would the settings be in Flash & Burn? I'm having trouble drawing a mental picture of how all this stuff fits together....

Re: chip addressing vs. buffer addressing
The eprom adress is where you are reading the eprom. The Buffer address is where the EPROM image in a memory buffer. Offset is where you are programing a smaller size of data to a larger eprom.

um, yeah, already understand that....but doesn't answer my questions.
Re: chip addressing vs. buffer addressing
Bin files are differant sizes but can all be used on same chip which is larger then all of them. Offset puts bin on end where it can be used.
Look at this page and the 27FS512 offsets, notice the all differant size bins all end up at 00FFFF ?

Reading stock chips is different as well, no offset for buffer.
