I read this Nokia Phone Cable as ALDL Cable Thread here:

and wanted to try this before buying a ALDL Cable, as I am sitting in europe and the shipping costs nearly the same as the cable.


When I was sitting in my car I mentioned that there is no E Plug ?
If I use the D Plug nothing happens.
Short Wire A + B does work well (error codes)

I am running a Pontiac Firebird 87 which was equipped with a LG4 and E4ME cc carb. Now it is a L69 also with a cc carb.

Is this correct? Could not find any notes on this plug ?

 

Place a 10K resistor between ALDL A & B and do a key-on, engine-off. Look at the SES light, if it flickers then ALDL pin D is the serial data. The drawings for this car don't show a pin E for ALDL data.

Actually, they make no mention of an ALDL data stream. The ECM may bit-bang it out of the SES light pin of the ECM.

A+B Flashes with Key On

A+D (A gnd and D Data) - nothing happens with Key on.

Maybe I can check with a friends ALDL Cable today if its working at all.
