Plan to get FP reading to EBL WUD

Hello all,

I'm getting close to taking my car in to get tuned. I thought it would be helpful to be able to see fuel pressures during the process so I plan to install/wire a fuel pressure sender to get FP readings on WUD.

I have the EBL flash and would like to make sure you all agree I'm approaching this small project correctly:

I've put together all this info together from other threads on here Thanks guys!

What I currently have:
Plan to install this on my Aeromotive FPR:
  • Autometer 2246 (0-100PSI)
    • Correction! ... According to RBob Autometer sensors have too high of a failure rate! - Switched to a Honeywell 0-50psi Sensor (MLH050PGB06A)
  • 1/8" NPT Female x 3/8" NPT Male Reducer
  • GM Delphi / Packard Metri-Pack P2S Sensor Connector Pigtail (the same as the small TPS connector)
  • 3 18 gauge wires (5ft Black + 15ft White + 15ft Blue) from Orchard Supply Hardware to get from connector to EBL and TPS 5V splice

And wire like this:
  • Supply: +5 Volts (tapped/soldered into TPS sensor 5v wire)
  • Output: One of my EBL Flash ACD pins
  • Ground: One of the three EBL Flash Ground pins

(Image 1)

Then configure as shown:

(Image 2) (Assuming I use ADC pin 2)

2/12/18: Since I went with a Honeywell 0-50 psi this is what I actually did:

Some questions:
  1. Does my plan sound good? If not, please suggest ideas/changes
  2. Where should I get the +5V feed from? I figure the ECM yet not sure where?
    • 2/12/18: Ended up getting +5V from TPS sensor.
  3. Should I go with 0-30 or 0-100? My fuel pressure will likely never go above 35PSI. I have a supercharger and I plan to reach ~8PSI of boost so I may see 32PSI? I wish they had a 0-50psi sender lol
    • 2/12/18: Luckily there was a 0-50 PSI Honeywell sensor I was able to use PN: MLH050PGB06A

Hope to get some feedback Thanks all!

If you haven't purchased the autometer sensor, don't. Too high of a failure rate.

A HoneyWell sensor is a better choice. We get them from Mouser in TX.

Phew! glad I posted this! ...

Ok. I looked through their website. I don't really know what I'm doing but this one seems to be most similar to the 0-100psi one I've found you posted in other threads (MLH100PGB06A) yet psi is 0-50 instead.

Mouser #: 785-MLH050PGB06A
Mfr. #: MLH050PGB06A
Link: Mouser 785-MLH050PGB06A

During my search I also found you recommend to someone that the 5V power supply could be picked up from MAP or TPS. So a clean splice from one of these sounds like the answer to my second question (on where to get 5V source from)

If this sensor will work, then my third question I posted earlier is answered! 0-50psi would be a more realistic range for my fuel pressure setup.

However, I have a new question. Can I setup my WUD to work with 0-50psi? If not, the MLH100PGB06A (0-100psi) seems to be sold out on Mouser

Thank for the help!

Oh oh!

I think the answer is yes. Would this be how:

As for the connector, according to the honeywell's MLH datasheet, we can order these two:

"Metri-Pack 150 mating connectors with shielded cable and 22 AWG wire are available from Honeywell. Order part no. 3685301 for 1 m [3.2 ft] cable length and part no. 3685302 for 3 m [9.8 ft] cable length." - Honeywell MLH Datasheet.pdf

They are expensive though! But then again, so is the AutoMeter 5227.

The user device is set up correctly. For a connector/pigtail, it is the same as the small TPS connector:

GM Delphi / Packard Metri-Pack P2S Sensor Connector Pigtail

Re: Plan to get FP reading to EBL WUD

Hello everyone!

I was able to get the FP sender installed. Overall it went well without any issues. I referenced my own thread during the install so hopefully this thread will help others.
I can now see FP readings on WUD

I ended up just buying the TPS connector as RBob mentioned at the local parts store. Make sure to mention it's for TBI engine or you may end up with the wrong one (had to have the right one reordered since I suspect they gave me a TPI one initially)

P.s. I updated the my initial post with everything I actually purchased to avoid misleading others to purchase something incorrectly if someone reads/follows this thread.

Thanks everyone!
