BIN to start from?
Hi, I have an 89 Z28 that had a 406, 30 lb. injectors and 700R4 and 3.70 gear. I am changing the car to a 383, 36lb injectors and a LT1 T-56 and probably a 4.10 or 4.30 gear.. I have ordered a fast burn, cables, ALDL extreme, G1 adapter and two chips. My question is about the BIN file to start with. I have a custom made chip in the ECM that ran the 406 combo with the 700R4 that I could copy and use as a starting point or I found a BIN file on Gearheads EFI for an 89 Corvette 383 with a 6 speed. Trying to determine which starting point would be better. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Depending on what other changes there are besides cubes, If your previous bin ran the engine well, I'd start with that and just make the necessary changes to switch from manual to auto.

Re: BIN to start from?
APYP would be a good start with injector constant changed.

Re: BIN to start from?
Just for your info the CID is refleted in the base pulse constant. My 396 SB at 43 lbs FP and 24 lb injectors is 119 for all values in that table as it is a vac ref FPR. I would use a automatic .bin for sure. I think that is a safer way to go. I believe there are several parameters in the .bin specific for tranny. A 350 auto bin with a change in BPC should do it .

I am trying to get familar with Tuner Pro RT but I dont see a place to address the base pulse constant. I have been going thru the Scalars, Flags and Tables and try to figure them out.

Re: BIN to start from?
Thanks, I'm using 36lb injjectors rated at 43.5 psi. Do I enter them as 36lb or 35lb at the lower pressure? I am reading hours each day everything I can find on this Tuner Pro and prom tuning but its alot, seems I always have more questions .....

I would go with 36#hr and fine tune with your maf tables.
Here’s a good read on maf tuning

Re: BIN to start from?
Ronny, I am using a $6E definition file and APYP bin and I do not see BPC vs VAC or VAFPR. The link Tuned gave me last night is the best, most detailed article I have found yet on the subject. I am reading now and going to print a hard copy for reference.

Re: BIN to start from?
Look in constants for Base Pullse constant. A single value.
In tables it is called BPC vs VAC.
Not sure why you would not have it. My port fuel .bin is 3006_bin I believe all EFI .bins have a BPC. See my correction above thread.
Can you search the TunerPro 6E def file for it?

I will look again for the BPC vs VAC in the morning when I get home from work. Thanks

Re: BIN to start from?
I am stuck at work tonight but I have been reading and reading again the "Mass Air Flow Tuned Port Injection Programming and Tuning Guide" that Tuned gave me the link to. It seems that the 89 MAF 6E is different from the 86-88 MAF 32 and 32B. A quote from that document says
"The PW based tuning tables went away in $6E. Gone. $6E uses the MAF airflow and calculates an injector PW". So I guess you tell it what size injector you are using in single fire and batch fire and adjust fueling by moving the mass air flow tables up or down. Does this sound correct to you guys?

Re: BIN to start from?
Thanks Tuned and Ronny for the help and guidance. I'm sure I'll run into something else to stump me and I'll be asking questions again. Thanks again for the help.
