ARAP bin giving me high idle
I got the ARAP bin off Craig Moates site, did a few changes and burned it. Now my idle in neutral is 1200 RPMs. What is causing this; my old chip never did this.

Check your idle tables vs. temp, my modded ARAP runs 650rpm at temp, but around 1200 or so cold if I recall.

Your best bet is to always start with a clean unmodified PROM. Most of the people in this forum that tune PROMs do so for just their engine. It is highly unlikely it will work well with another engine.

Umm.. the ARAP from Craig's site is an unmolested one folks.
Hard to say without more info.... Have you exhausted any searches for possible vacuum leaks?

I believe that's correct, unmolested. But he made some changes before running it...
I'd say the only things you might want to change before running it for the FIRST time are the FI constant, VATS switch, and fan on/off inversion. Once you get a baseline, you can go from there.

Sorry about that......I was thinking of a different thread. I did this for a different bin. I have never diff'ed the image at Craig's site with the one from the GM ECM site.

Yeah, I checked it when I originally downloaded it from Craig (thanks for hosting it BTW ) last year just because of not wanting to make that very mistake and it checked out as untouched. But the underlying point is a very valid one. Making sure you have a known good, untouched bin to start with, is an absolute must.
