Blinker

My car's turn signals blink really slowly. What can I do to make them blink faster? I don't want them ***** style but a little quicker than they are now because they are irratating me.

You might try a new flasher realy.

If the flasher is going bad, a new flasher might help. Otherwise you need a bulb that 'pulls' more juice. For example, if you have a 1157 installed, replace it with a 2057. 1156 replaced with a 2056. That will make it flash faster.

I didn't know changing the bulb made a difference. I will try that after I replace the relay.

slow turn signals are often an indicator of low battery voltage.

I have a brand new battery though. The neighbor put in a new battery when I bought the car because the old one was dead so it can't be the battery. Although I don't know about the alternator. When I have my headlights on the battery needle sways a little. It goes down when I press on the brakes with the headlights on. When driving without the headlights on though it is fine. The blinker is faster though when the headlights are off than when they are on but is still a little slow.

sounds kinda like alternator to me. The car I have now, I bought off of a friend. Anyways be careful, cuz when he was driving the alternator went, and all electric shut down going 55mph, not fun. Also check to make sure the wire to your starter is nice and tight.

huh?

Am I missing some sarcasm here? Power steering and power brakes arent run off of electrical power, but off of the engine. Yes, if the engine dies, you will lose those, but not just because of electrical failure.
But then, with these cars, you lose electrical power, your engine will go also. But that still doesnt mean you can skip the middle step there :nono:

Yeah if the alternator goes, then the ammount of time left for the car to be running is up to the battery. Once the battery is dead, car no workey.

My blinker is slow, but when the flasher is ready to go, they blink really fast.

That new syn. blinker fluid is sweet. I top it off everytime I change my oil.
