MULTI-FUNCTION LEVER
The question I have is why would there be more resistance when I turn on the left signal vs. the right signal? When I turn on the right, it "snaps right in to place". When I turn on the left, I can feel alot more resistance. It will "snap in" and stay locked as well, and disengage as advertised after coming out of a turn. It really isn't a big deal, just thought that it should have pretty equal force required to engage it. Is there a way to correct this, other than having to replace it. Maybe a sign of impending failure?

Sounds like there is something interfering with it. Look into the slot where enters the column and see if you can see anything that may cause it to get caught on something.
Otherwise, I'd suggest you remove the steering wheel (you'll also need the lock plate removel tool - ~$18) and obsere the mechanism while it is working to see if you can determine why there is added resistance.
