wiring problems, maybe?

Well, for starters, the High Beams don't work on the car. Not really a problem for driving, just annoying sometimes... Down here in Florida it storms pretty bad sometimes, and it'd be nice to have them late nights on the roads during thunder storms. But that's not all... I have this extremely untimely problem with the Turn signals.. It seems that the back one(s) shine, but the front left won't.

It started out with the front left alone, so i replaced the bulb... It didn't help, so I traced the wires... Nothing I saw was really wrong, and the fuse was fine as well... Then a week or two ago, the Right Turn signal started doing the same... Only it comes and goes....

Anybody have any ideas? Should I get the wires replaced, have an electronics spec. find the problem? Any help would be appreciated... It's fairly annoying, and it's not beyond the PD here to stop somebody for something so insignificant...

Well for the highbeams I would turn em on and see if you have power to the bulbs, a test light would tell you, if you do..new bulbs, no sweat. If you dont have voltage, I would check the fuses and the relay.

As far as your turn signals...well that might be a low voltage problem..especially if they don't blink at all, check ALL your bulbs, front, back, left, right. Check the ground on the body for the rear lights. Usually somewhere around the right taillight. It is actually under the light assembly on my IROC, not sure if its in the smae place for all years...make sure it isnt rusted or painted.

The front turnsignal bulb sockets may have a broken ground strip in them, I have encountered this in other GM vehicles. Pull the bulbs out and look carefully at the socket, there should be a strip of metal that runs up the inside of the socket that is supposed to contact the side of the bulb base. They made these strips out of tin and bent them 180 degrees around the lip of the sockets, after a time they crack off at this bend and then the turnsignal stops working.
Auto parts stores are now stocking more and more parts like the sockets, have a look at a socket there if you have doubts on weather your sockets are good or not.
