should i be scared?

about a month ago i realized that when i turned off my a/c, heater, vent that after a few seconds smoke starts coming out of the vents or anywhere else it can escape from. it doesn't just billow out, but it sort of *sizzles* out. this only happens when i flip the switch to OFF. if i turn my a/c back on it stops coming out. my dad seems to think it is the blower motor for the a/c. is it that? or is it some sort of electrical short that will set my car on fire?
any ideas, thanks

Letting the smoke out of anything electrical is never good.

Is is smoke or steam? If it smells like antifreeze, it may be your heater core going bad.

it smells like smoke. it comes out of anywhere in the dash, like the vents, even out of the ***** and switchs for the a/c and heat.

Not sure but it sounds like you have a bad wire or relay. Smoke is not a good thing. Take off what you can of the dash and turn the ac off. See if you cant locate where it is coming from.
