no juice!
no juice!
I just put this interstate battery in my car about 4 months ago and replaced my ground cable also.up until recently my car has been awesome. I went to start it yesterday and got nothing, like the battery was just plain dead. Tried jumping and still nothing, the only thing that I've noticed was that the gauge inside the car always read at or below 13, sometime near the orange. its been doing this since before the new batt. the car had sat for about 3 weeks without being started the only thing that stays on is this little LED light on my stereo when the face is off. Any Ideas? please help.

What is 'nothing' ? Like no noise, a clicking when trying to start, slow cranking, no interior lights ?
Test the battery in another car or have it tested to make sure it doesn't have a dead cell. Make sure the neutral safety switch is working (play with the shifter to make sure it's really in park). Check the cable at the starter for a good tight fit. Probably something else I can't think of at the moment to.
Don't trust the gauge for voltage, always test the voltage at the battery with a descent voltmeter for an accurate reading. My camaro's voltage varies day to day.. as long as it's not close to the 8 in the red, I really don't pay any attn to it.

If you have checked everything that deadbird has suggested I would remove the alt. and take it somewhere to be tested. It sounds like that the voltage regulator is bad and draining the battery. I have had this happen to me before.
some new developments are that my batt is good( 12 v at the terminals) so heres whats up. when I open the door the buzzer and floor lights come on . when i put the key in and turn it to on there is a click and everything goes off and its like the is just no juice whatsoever. I'm guessing its the alternator or its relay. what do you think?

Just on & not trying to start the car ?
The entire car going dead (absolute 0 power to anything) would suggest a problem between the battery and the starter (ie. bad/loose batt cable) or maybe a bad block ground or block/battery to chassis gnd. Also, a battery with a bad/dead cell will hold it's voltage until a load is placed on it. Watch the voltage at the battery while someone turn the car on and see if it drops abnormally. If the voltage seems alright, start being suspicious of the connection at the starter or the cable itself.
Just a fyi too.. there's no relay for the alternator.

Mine had the same problem and it turned out to be a bad connection at the battery and all I had to do was clean the cable end at the battery and have had no other problems.
