Kinda confused about type of ignition

Ok well my friend and I are currently working on his car. He bought a 88' Iroc with a transplanted motor. We found out that the 350 block was out of a 81. The motor was built in 99 by the guy and we dont know what he put into it. That is about all we know about this motor. He needs a new igintion box. The guy before him put on an Accel in-cap super coil. I think the best bet is the accell 300+. now heres the problem, When we were looking into the 300+ setups it says that 1974-1989 chevy/cadillac v8 HEI, red and yellow primary wire. There is no red and yellow wire on the coil. But after it say Buick/Olds/pontiac v8 HEI re and white primary wire. The igniton has red and white wires. So which one would i purchase. My biggest confusion is that there are 4 wires running to the coil and one is red one is white, there is not a red and white WIRE. sorry if i sound dumb but Im pretty new to ignition stuff so this is why i am workin on my friends car and not mine . any help here guys i would appreciate sooo much..thanks

There should only be 2 wires on the coil, thay are talking about the actual coil wires, not the ones that plug into the distributor. The wires will either be red/white or red/yellow.

OK...but the red and white wire set up is specified for Pontiac/old/buick. I know this motor came out of a 81 chevy. Maybe the guy switched the ignitions or somthing i really dont understand but should i just purchase the modual with the setup fo the red and white primary wires. Thanks soo much for the help

Personally, I don't think it makes much difference. When my car was new ( '85 IROC) the coil had red/white wires (chev 305 tpi engine), I bought an accel super coil for it about 8 years later and it said the chevy application used red/yellow wires, so I bought that one and have been using it ever since.
