Which switch are you talking about? There should be the brake lamp switch, which could serve the same function, or are there two switches on yours?? It should be called the brake lamp switch if there is only one switch, if there are two, it should be called something like "cruise control override".
Kinda off topic- Are you active? If so, where are you stationed?

I'm in San Diego at Miramar. Yep, active duty SSgt. I teach avionics and am (G0d help me) in a Navy command. I see you're in WA. Whidby by chance?
The break lamp switch is just to the right of the one I'mtalking about. This switch has a vacuum hose attached as well as an electrical connector. Right now I have no cruise 'cus the switch is broken and I think it effects the lock up torque converter as well.

No, Im DEP right now, I leave 23 june for MCRD San Deigo. Cant hardly wait, there's nothing better than running around for twelve weeks with a Rifle
That vaccum canister huh? I'll check it out. I know which one you are talking about now. I don't think it is attached to the converter lockup switch though, as I ripped mine out and my tranny still functions normally.

I think it's the brake vacuum release switch or something close to that effect. I don't believe that switch has any relation to the TC unlocking. The TC release is wired through the 2nd harness plug on the brake switch. When the brake is applied, the switch opens and cuts power to the TC solenoid.
I think the plug on the cruise brake switch is for the brake input on the cruise module.

The grad date is around the 13th of September, depending on how long improcessing takes. Ill be glad to see a camaro, after the whole summer without mine!!!
That switch is wired like deadbird said on mine, so I doubt there is any connection from the cruise switch you are talking about to the TC lockup, but check the wiring diagrams for cruise control. They might be able to tell you the name of the switch. Ill see if I can rip out mine, I no longer have cruise control, but still have some of the wiring installed.

Sarge,
I don't know what GM calls it,but if you visit the dealer you can pick it out from the pictorials on the B&H parts system screens. I'm guessing this is one of the few places you'll find a replacement anyway.
