Wiring for Headlights

Is it possible to have my headlights put on a switch??

I would run the wires through a fuse, then a switch which i can mount inside the car??

I want to change to 9005/9006 headlights, and just figured i would run the positives and negatives straight from the connectors to a switch so i don't have to mess with the stock harness??

Will this work??

Any help is appreciated....

Wouldn;t it be a whole heck of alot easier just to solder into the existing headlight harness'? It would save you alot of trouble. As long as the lights you're putting in don;t overpower the existing system, I'd just do a little solderin/splicing.

the number of wires on the connector don't match the number of wires that lead to the STOCK wiring harness....

Do you have a diagram of the wires for the 9005/9006 bulbs and what each wire does. You may be able to figure something out.

That is a fuse that YOU have to provide, along with the relays that handle the extra load of the higher wattage lamps. You should be able to find it an any parts store.

So where along the STOCK wiring harness do i insert the fuse???

Do i have to put a seperate fuse for each headlight, just to be on the safe side, or in the STOCK harness do they meet up somewhere......
