Where does this wire go to?

Im installing a power release solenoid so I can pop open my hatch, but where does the wire go from the solenoid to the dash? or switch or something. Heres what the solenoid looks like the one I just bought.

I think you just have the momentary switch in the console that is a break in the + line... but I'm not totally sure on the wiring!

Are you saying that you're installing a hatch release on a non-equipped car, or are you replacing one that is equipped???

If installing on a non-equipped car, just splice the switch to a CONSTANT (hot) wire (not a key-on wire).... this way you can pop the hatch with the key out....

the factory switch is located at the rear of the center console between the poweer window switches. factory switch uses a constant 12 volt source, but it runs through a switch built into the shifter plate, so you can not accidently open the hatch when the car is in gear

install an on-off switch wherever you want in car, connect 1 side of switch to 12v battery source under dash, connect other side of switch to release soleniod wire in question.the body of solenoid is ground so be sure that bolts are tight&it is mounted directly to car body's metal.
