Idea for adding extra security against theft

In addition to my car alarm I was thinking of adding some sort of electrical cut off switch in line to the fuel pump. Something that I can mount under the seat or something so when I go to park I can just flip the swith and arm the alarm. What do you think??

thats a great idea !
U have to maximize ur chances that the
theif cant bypass it.

I think if its all in one system.. it could be easier
for the theif to get away with the car.
Being separate, he'll have to look further...

I did it to mine after it was broken into. works good. Don't have pics because it is under the seat and pretty hard to get too. Especially if you have power seats like me.

my thoughts exaxtly if it's seperate it means more confusion for the thief. I was thinking of mounting it under the ash tray since it's pretty easy to remove and replace.

you say you have an alarm, why not also interrupt the pink wire with a relay like your starter kill?that would disable the fuel pump& the ignition.it would also be inexpensive compared to the immobilizer.

I broke the feed line to the starter, but instead of installing a switch I installed a headphone socket, and the only way to complete the starter circuit is with a headphone jack, shorted out. I can provide diagrams if you are interested. It's just a free and simple job which adds a little more hassle to a potential thief's evening.
