question on wipers
My bros friend recently fixed my heater core. But however now the bug spray or wipers dont work...I see a purple and yellow wire hanging, and a screw hole next to another screw hole. One has a screw in it with a wire and the other one is empty.
Also in the engine area there is a wire hanging loose from the motor. Theres the big harness attaced but a little one is out of it and I cant find a place for it. Any help on what I can do to get my wipers to work again would be much appreciated. I can take pix if needed too.

If you are talking about the plug I think you are, it goes into the absolute bottom of the wiper motor. However, I do not think that this wire controls anything other than the wiper motor itself, so I am going to ask if the washer pump ran before the motor assembly was unplugged. If it didn't work, than you can go out to your local parts store and order one. If I am incorrect at this point, you will need to add a pic so I can point myself and you in the right direction, or better yet, just add a pic anyways.

I got it working. My friends dad tapped some piece with a wrench or somethin. He said it may work for a while, but it it stops again I should get another motor. How long you think it would last? thx for the help. Problem solved.

Those motors are cheap. I almost got one off eBay for $15 including shipping. But I'll tell you right now that GM used two different wiper motors. I have seen one from a Camaro the same year as my bird and the motor was completely different.

Beware, wiper motors aren't cheap. By brother-in-law, several years ago, before he got rid of his second gen Camaro, had to dish out somewhere in the ballpark of $80 for a rebuilt unit for that same car. It sounds like that motor has one of two problems: either it has a loose electrical connection inside the housing, or it has a burnt-out starting winding that operates only when the motor gets a hard vibration. My dad's car has a cooling fan doing the same thing. Tap on it with a hammer, close the hood, or go over a nice bump in the road and all of a sudden it works, sort of.

damn 80.00 is kinda expensive for that little thing. Ill prolly end up getting one out of a junkyard like suggested to me. Itll end up being cheaper there.

Found one for you on eBay. This is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33657
The auction starts at $5 and you can get it cheap. DO NOT ever go to a junkyward for electrical parts, especially those under the hood. I've done so three times now and none have worked.

there are 2 designs that im aware of (there might be more)
one has the windshield washer pump built into the motor... my old 82 camaro had this....
the other has no windshield washer on it, its just a wiper.... its slightly thinner... my current 91 vert has this

I looked at your pics, and I must first say "Nice sub system, man!" I have one of those myself. Do they sound good in that box?
Now, to get back to the post: Needs a clearer pic of the wiper motor so someone can tell you whether you have a separate washer pump or not, although to me it looks like mine in that it has the washer pump built in.
