Car won't shut off - Ignition lock cylinder?

Hi all...I just performed some searches, and it looks like my problem is my non-VATS ignition lock cylinder dying, I can't shut the car off, the cylinder is locked in the "on" position. It'll crank fine, but it won't shut off...I had to disconnect the battery...

Couple of questions on replacing it....

First, I believe I need a lock plate depressor tool, can I get one at O'Reilly's or Autozone?

And second, I assume I can use a standad GM lock cylinder; I won't need a special dealer only model?

TIA....

yes, you will need a tool for pulling the steering wheel and a lock plate depressor tool available at almost all auto parts stores. Yes, you just need a standard GM lock cylinder since you do not have VATS.
