Alternator directly to the batt?
I'm just wondering whether or not an alternator can be wired directly to the battery in a car? Also if so it would go to the positive terminal correct? Thanks in advance.

With no problems at all right? Is the Alt also still hooked up to the rest of the electrical system or just the batt?

If you track your harness you'll find that, ultimately, thats' the only place it ever went.
It just does it in a VERY 'round about way!
Never have figured out why GM chose to connect it to the starter source wire instead of the battery. They both feed from/to the same place.
