Mystery wire by O2 sensor
Quick question, under the engine I found a green wire with a connector on the end that has not been plugged in for a long time. There are two wires together, the red goes to the oxygen sensor and the green is the one that goes nowhere. What is the wire for? Thanks

there is an aftermarket temp sensor and gauge in the car, does this affect the computer or driveability? Where does the ecm get info about temperature? i dont know if the gauge was broken, so that is why there is an aftermarket gauge, or if this was a quick fix. Would it be woth putting in a factory sender and trying the factory gauge? I have been chasing a rough idle and did tune up, IAC cleaning, throttle position sensor check and i thought maybe this has something to do with it....

No, it wouldn't affect the driveability of the car and is not tied into the ECM. Others have added aftermarket gauges to their cars for various reasons.

I was just about to ask the same question. Spent all day yesterday chasing the fan wiring that the wizard before me had ruined and I was left with the green wire. He had spliced into it, ran it over top of the engine and connected it to the secondary fan temp switch. Brilliant! I was thinking it was the temp sender but I can't find one between the plugs, must of pulled it. If I ground it, the guage dosen't budge, and with the key on I get 10 volts to it. Dosen't seem right to me. That is the wire in the diagram though.
While I"m posting, does anyone know if the fuel pump feed is supposed to have a fusible link inline? I put in a 20 guage rust one for the fans, but I see the pump is fused in the box. How many fusible links am I suppossed to have? Didn't have any when I got it.

There is no fusible link for the fuel pump feed and there is no fuse on the fuse panel for your car even though it says FP-FAN. That is only applicable to certain models and yours is not one of them. There is a 20 AMP fuse near the battery that is for the Fuel Pump relay, the ECM, MAF power relay, MAF burn-off relay and Oil pressure switch/sender unit.

Thanks Trickster. I understand. One other question if you don't mind. Is the secondary fan supposed to come on when the A/C is turned on? It dosen't. Also dosen't run with the ALDL jumped. The primary does though. I think I may just switch it. (secondary fan) Thanks
