What power wire are you referring too, the big red wire from the battery or the purple wire that completes the circuit from the ignition switch?

The purple wire goes on the small terminal marked "S" and is on the right side of the solenoid as you look at it.
i dont know why i switched them but i got them back where they belong. my question is about the fuse box. do i need all new fuses or what?

Okay, I guess I should have asked in the first post. Where did you connect the purple wire?

for some reason to the motor housing

Okay,
What I need you to do is locate connector C100 (it is located on the driver side firewall at left foot). Remove the plastic cover over it (if there) and locate pin "G5", it will be a red wire. The fuse panel gets power from it and it is a fusible link to the starter solenoid. If there is not battery voltage at that pin, you have a blown fusible link at the solenoid.
