Try making up a new set of resistors to use if that is how you did the by-pass. One or more of them may have gone south on you.

If that's the case then I think that your problem might be elsewhere. You don't have the engine size listed so I don't know if you have a TPI or TBI set-up. What kind of fuel pressure do you have and have you checked the injector fuses? When was the last time that you changed your fuel filter and PCV valve?

you need to see what you loose once it dies.

#1 hook up a fuel pressure guage. start the car let it run till it dies see what your fuel pressure does while it runs for a few seconds and what it reads once it dies.

#2 If the first step checked out ok then get a noid light and hook it up to an injector harness. start the car and see if it keeps flashing or if it stops and as a result the eng. stops. (this may be a little harder due to the lack of one cyl.

#3 get a spark tester!!! hook it up to one of your wires and run the car see if it stops while the eng. is still turning

#4 let us know what you are loosing and causing the eng. to die

Do you really have a V-6 w/ TBI and VATS? I kinda doubt it being that they dropped the TBI V-6 in like 85 and went to MPFI and VATS wasn't around until 89.

But, in any case, check the fuel pressure for sure.

Cool! How did you figure out that was the cause? Electrical problems are a witch!
