Hi-beam switch problem

First, let me say 'hi' as I am new to this board and this is my first post. My name is Tyler and I have a '89 Camaro RS 305 TBI. Now on to the 'fun' stuff...

I spent all day tearing my steering column apart so I could replace my turning signal switch and when I went to put everything back together my hi-beam/cruise cont arm doesn't return to its original position. There is a rod that I believe attatches to the switch assembly(somehow) but I can't figure out how. When I pull the switch forward to activate the hi-beams, it doesn't 'spring' back to it's original position. I looked it over and over but it just ain't clickin...any ideas?

Thanks in advance

-Tyler

Not about to tear my column apart to help you here. But I remember how much of a b*tch it was to get that back together my first time around.

Its been so long that I can't remember how it went together.

Do a search for "loose tilt column" Vader posted assembly pictures in one of the threads that may help you put yours back together.

Maybe this will help you out some or at least point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the help guys...the rod had slipped out of the recepticle in the dimmer switch. All fixed. Now all I gotta do is firebomb Autozone for suggesting the most expensive/complicated fix for my turning signal when it just needed a $2/10 min fix.

This board is awesome...I'll definately come here (first) next time.

Thanks again.
