New ingintion cyl. ?

My ignition cylynder is pretty messed up. When I got the car the guy said that you turn the key to the on pos. and then push a button he had wired up. Well that works, but it also works to just turn the key to start? There is no outside "race" where you put the key in. Is one click back from run "off" I mean the radio doesnt work on that pos. but is it the true off. I cant click back to acc either. It won't return to the off pos as indicated on the colum. the key comes out....
Thanks in advance, this forum is a lifesaver, and bank save

In my opinion, just take your car to a garage and get it fixed. A brand new ignition cylinder from GM costs like $30. Add in labor, which should be about an hour, and that's not a bad price to fix all the problems you are having.
