Battery In Trunk
i was wondering where you guys placed your battery in your trunks. i want to do that i just wanted some ideas. thanks guys
Kandied91z, what in the world are you doing with 4 batteries??
And, a question for all of you....is there anything that changes when moving the battery to the trunk??
I plan on moving mine to my trunk, and just wanted to make sure like it does not affect anything.....i am assuming nothing changes....just, the pos. cable running up to the front of the car and attaching to everything under the hood as normal...
Thanks!

what should change? everything runs and works normal if you hook it up correctly if that's what your asking. cleans the engine bay and of course moves weight but beyond that nothing else special. i did it for room under the hood more then anything.

If you've got a dry cell battery and don't have to deal with tech inspections at the track the BMR mount makes for a clean install.

Here's mine...
Must be certified hardware and be vented to the exterior for track legality. Cutoff switch must kill engine.

Don't think you need to worry about venting it, then. Might not need a lid, either. If ya do, just cover it with saran wrap.

Gel Cell, Dry Cell, Sealed Batteries still all have to be in an approved box vented to the exterior. Mine is an optima in there as well.

No kidding, that's lame. I still like the idea of hiding it in the spare tire well, then getting one of those 2 lb display batteries from Checker and mounting it up front like it were the real battery.

I was reading about that in another thread. Some guy had the idea to hide the battery in the spare wheel well and conceal the wiring really well, then go down to the local auto parts store, ask for one of the hollow display batteries that they keep on the counter for people to look at, then mount it in the car as if it were the real battery. They only weigh a pound or two.
When you're at the track and the inspectors pop the hood, they only see a battery in the battery tray, with red and black wires coming off of it.
