Need a wiring diagram or something
I was not sure whether to post this in the transmissions board or the electronics board, but since this is strictly a electrical wiring question, I posted in here- move it if you must.
I'm going to wire up a switch to lock up my torque converter. I have long ago ditched the ECM for a non cc carb and distributor(long story). All of the wiring harness from the ECM is still in the car. My question is...which wire on the ECM do I splice so I can run from the battery to the toggle switch to the brake switch to the TCC? I'm looking for the color of the wire I need to splice into.
Thanks for your help!
He's a layout to demonstrate what I'm talking about....

Ok, I ran a wire from my battery to a switch along with a ground, and the brown and black wire(F) off the ALDL. The problem I have now is that the torque convertor locks when the switch is "off." When the switch is "on," the torque covertor does not lock. Another problem is that when I shut off the car with the switch turned to "on," the car continues to run unless I flip off the switch or tap the brake pedal. Should I switch the brown and black wire with the battery wire on the connector? Also, would it help to switch from a battery power source to a keyed power source? If so, where can I find a keyed power source on my car...I've never tryed to tap one before...what's the procedure?
Thanks guys...another diagram to show what I've done so far...

Basically you don't need a wire going to the battery. You just need to put a switch in the circuit between the TCC and pin "F" of the ALDL and a ground.

the TCC always gets power.. it doesnt use the computer for power.
the computer just grounded the pin when it wanted it locked.
with the computer out, nothing was grounding it, so it never locked.

Here is a thread for hookup www.technicalevolution.com/700inst.htm it shows the proper way to do the TCC without an ECM
