alternator
What is the difference between a 2 lead and 1 wire alternator.
The wiring harness on my 86 z28 has a two prong connector.
I have removed the 305 and put in a 350 carb. However, when I check on an alternator for my 350, they recommend a one wire alternator.
can I adapt the two lead wire to the one wire? I know that I will be doing away with all the computer and what it runs, all the smog control and the air conditioner. Just the basic 350.

A standard 3 wire alt will give better performance.
