resistance in "L" wire on alternator?

ive searched the archives and couldnt find the info i was needing. I read on here once about installing a resistor inline on the brown wire coming off the alternator to regulate voltage to 12V. I used this on another formula of mine and it worked, but i cant remember the value of the resistor that i used. Does anyone know?

The resistance value of that resistor that was used in the older models was 10 OHM's. Hope this helps you.

Is this what you are trying to emulate?

That is what he is trying to emulate VADER, however in your picture there it doesn't show the period between the second and last ZERO very well so it looks like 100 OHM's instead of 10 OHM's.

so what would the resistor value need to be to show the 10ohm resistance? 10 ohm 1 watt?

Just 10 OHM's, the wattage isn't relevant.

That diagram may have been from a Corvette. They are wired differently.

Is there a minimum wattage the resistor needs to be or is like 1/4W fine? I can't imagine there's too much current going through that wire.

As mentioned in the fourth post above yours, the wattage is irrelevant to the issue here.

i put a 10 ohm 1 watt resistor on that wire and it did the trick. Voltage shows just over 13 on the gauge.
