Slim jim it, retrieve your keys and sleep a little easier.

Power everything or power nothing.. VATS is simply related to the ignition and the car starting . It's not hooked to the locks or anything like that llike a car alarm would be.

Or if you still don't want to slim jim it you could always get a steel coat hanger or a long piece of steel wire (I personally have used a piece of filler wire for welding) And hit your button... that is if it is in the center console. Or if you have all the OEm stuff on the window you would be amazed at how far you can your window out... You can actually pull it out far enough to get a full set of keys to pass through it.. I have done so on 3 different f-body's so far. all third gen.

after you get done with the slim jim, go get some spare keys made. At least your door key anyway. The VATS ignition key is expensive. I think a spare door key is a nice $5 or less investment.

welp i broke into my car today. took a 6 foot metal rod with me, grabbed hold of the pass side window and pulled out on it, stuck the rod in, hit the hatch release button and climbed in the back. Lesson learned....Getting spare key today

Try pulling the window class, that helps me out whenever i lock my keys it, but it does leave a nasty bruise. And dont worry about the window being broken, u can pull for a certain amount.

I had to do this once, the problem is my hatch would not open unless the park. brake was on, so I had to pull the damn thing with a coat hangar and then push the hatch release with a long broom, hehe pain in the rear end.

that is probably a safety feature.. to make sure you can not pop the hatch by accident when running down the road. never acutally thought to see if i had to pull the break in order for the hatch button to work...

I used a butter knife to pry my passenger side window out far enough to grab it with my hand. The window was flexible enough that I was able to stick my entire forearm into the car and press the unlock button on the door.

I use a wood paint stir that you can get at a hardware store. Just put it in on ht eleft side of the lock and push down, pops the lock every time.

If you have T-tops, breaking is easy. Just pry out one of your T-tops and open it. Than jump in like the doors were welded on. Its kinda fun.
Make sure you muscle everything back in once you are done, so no leaks occur .

I got stuck with the key in the car, and I got so pissed punched the car. Oooops, a dent!
Than once I got the keys back I cried

So, another lesson is...
If your car is not working right, and its frustrating, do not unleash your rage on it. Get a bag and...
Or suck up some helium and laugh.
Weed helps too
