All wires with big terminal lugs go to the big top post on the starter solenoid. The wire with the small terminal lug goes to the small post marked "S" on the solenoid.

yea the big red wire is the Positive wire and goes to the large post, and the black wire goes onto the small post which is negative.

ok, heres my situation we had to remove the starter to install some headers. once i pluged it back in and ran the car it ran for a couple seconds. the fuel pump was going nuts on and off on and off then the car just lost all power.. whats going on with it is something not ground?

Did you remember to reconnect all the ground wires on the back of the cylinder heads. Another thing to look at is whether or not you melted any of the wires against the headers.

No, those are grounds for the ECM and a lot of the other major circuits in the car. The starter does not have a ground wire, it is grounded by contact with the engine which in turn is grounded by the big ground wire from the battery to the engine block.

Ok dude today i messed with the car a bit. the way i had it set up was the little red wire on the far right small terminal, the black wire from the battery and the two red wires that come from the wire harness where all on the middle big nut on the starter. this can't be right.
Heres a pic of what i have going on where do these wires hook up to? oh and by the way i did totally fry the one black wire that goes to the battery and i will be fixing that...

Here is a picture of where you are supposed to put your wires. From the drawing you supplied you have the wire from the battery going to the bolt for the support bracket on the front of the starter. All wires with the large terminal lugs and this includes the big wire from the battery go on the post in this picture that is labeled #12. The wire with the small terminal lug goes on the small post that is marked #1 in this picture. It is the small post closest to the engine block.

ok i have it wired correctly now. i went and got a new wire from the battery. Now the thing thats happening is when i start the car the starter stays on and keeps winding the flywheel. i called a friend up whos a mechanic and he thinks i may have shorter the starter silinoid. sound familiar? i guess i'll replace that and go from there unless you have any ideas, but i do have it hooked up correctly now and the car gets power. so i finally was able to roll my windows up for tomorrows rain storm lol
